QUESTION POSED ON: 14 May 2007
I have several R/3, BW, and APO landscapes. Each landscape has its own '/usr/sap/trans', '/usr/sap/transR3', and '/usr/sap/transBW' directories.

How can I integrate these landscapes into Solution Manager 4.0? Also, do I have to create a client in another SAP system before starting any of this?

The post-installation activities for Solution Manager are described in the 'Solution Manager 4.0 SR2 Installation Guide'. They are available for download in the in the upgrade and installation section of the SAP service marketplace (http://service.sap.com/instguides)

The post-installation steps basically consist of the following:

  1. Take a client copy of client 000, user master data from 001
  2. Maintain and assign logical system names. Also supply the logical system names of all the systems in the landscape
  3. Set up the connection to SAP OSS
  4. Set up the Solution Landscape and connect the systems to the Solution Manager
These steps are also described in the SAP help portal dedicated to solution manager set-up and configuration (http://help.sap.com > solution manager)
