QUESTION POSED ON: 05 January 2007
I am new to the SAP field and plan to learn both the BW and SEM modules. Is it okay to learn SEM first followed by BW? Does the order matter?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
SEM has three major components, which are BCS, CPM and BIC. BPS is the planning function and used to be a part of SEM, but starting from NetWeaver2004, BPS is a part of BW. It will be advantageous for you if you have BW knowledge prior to working on SEM, because SEM applications use BW cubes and data. Please make sure that you have a clear understanding of SAP modules before deciding on one.
