QUESTION POSED ON: 30 November 2006
My production client is running on HP-UX and an Oracle database. What is the best way to clone the system to the Linux OS?

The heterogeneous system copy tools from SAP can be used to copy any SAP system from any platform to the next as long as the target platform is supported by SAP.

The source database is exported in an operating system and database independent format. On the target system, a new database is created and the data imported.
