QUESTION POSED ON: 11 June 2006 It seems to me that Oracle Fusion is taking over the market of SAP NetWeaver. I'm currently an SAP XI consultant, and I'm wondering if it would be wise to switch my primary focus to Oracle Fusion so as to stay with my client base. What is your advice on this?

I'm not seeing the same effect, so it's hard for me to answer your question directly. Either company has a strong enough installed base that a bet in either direction should keep you employable as long as you would like. And I think that you can hedge some of these issues by being as up on Java and Java-based development technologies as possible, as both companies are heavily invested in Java. So unless you feel the need to be with the "winner", either NetWeaver or Fusion should keep you busy for many years to come.
