Duet's focus on providing SAP functionality via the Microsoft Office suite is specifically designed to simplify training costs and leverage the near universal understanding of how to use Outlook, Word and Excel as a means to interface with SAP. Implementation costs are complex, however, and Duet may not necessarily save you a lot in terms of your implementation.
For instance, you'll be able to bring on board a lot of new users with Duet without having to necessarily install SAP GUI. But you'll still have to install middleware specific to Duet, so the implementation difference probably won't be huge.
