QUESTION POSED ON: 14 November 2005
I am a developer who has been working in ABAP for six years and now would like to move to another language. Should I learn VB.NET or Java? Which one has more potential?

>
Of course you realize that this is an SAP-centric Web site, so you're going to get an SAP-centric answer. Pose this question on a Microsoft Web site and I guarantee you a different response. Bias non-withstanding, here goes: Java. Java is the designated successor to ABAP, and if the SAP market is where you want to work, Java is the way to go.
