QUESTION POSED ON: 25 February 2005
Our client indicated that two external SAP systems are ONLY able to generate and read XML format files. We need to establish a bi-directional interface with these two systems, reading and writing files in XML format. Where can we find an example of at least one ABAP or ABAP objects program which read and write XML format files? Where we can find documentation about this point? We are working on SAP 4.7 version.

The ABAP command you are interested in is CALL TRANSFORMATION. On the help for CALL, you'll see a link for "converting XML data". For program examples, I suggest searching for *XML* in SE37. This will yield some function modules that use this command.
