Why do we have to lean towards SAP XI when other middleware tools like SeeBeyond and Mercator can do the job?

If you already have a middleware, there is no explicit reason to use XI instead. The products are competitors. The reasons are the same as if you have a BMW automobile and ask to change it for a Mercedes.
