SAP Cloud Platform

Contributor(s): Todd Morrison

The SAP Cloud Platform, formerly known as SAP HANA Cloud Platform, is an in-memory Platform as a Service (PaaS) product. Independent software vendors (ISVs), startups and developers can use SAP HANA to create and test HANA-based cloud applications. It can also be used to extend cloud and on-premises software. Payment is based on a subscription model.

The SAP HANA Cloud Platform should not be confused with the similarly named HANA Enterprise Cloud

Thanks as always @TechTarget for getting in on these important new IT conversations, like SAP HANA Cloud Platform, early. There is a lot of talk about this new product since SAP announced it early February. It is designed to deliver key business processes as automation as a service. I think it's also important to define SAP HANA Cloud Platform's key characteristics as well. This blog defines 6 key characteristics, including its design and architecture on the basis of pre-defined blocks of concurrent user tiers - along with virtual memory capacity. Does the team at Tech Target agree with these 6?
