Will a switch from a technical support role to an SAP CRM development career benefit me?
I am currently working as a technical support specialist for a UK based company. I would like to switch my career to development and have chosen SAP CRM. I already have knowledge in RDBMS/GUI packages, done real-time project work for master's degree and I am at the green belt level in a quality program. I am extremely well versed in dealing with client requirements and meeting service-level agreements etc. How much will this career switch help me? Also, do I need to have knowledge in any other areas?

It looks you have gone through the whole customer support cycle. You are good fit as an SAP CRM consultant and your knowledge of RDBMS will come handy in understanding the CRM data dictionary. CRM projects have phases like project planning, blue printing, realization, final preparation and Go-Live. Your experience in requirement gathering will come in handy while working on CRM implementation projects. I would recommend that you concentrate on IC WebClient with Service.
