Verify that the SAP 'start' and 'instance' profiles do not have inconsistencies and then investigate the memory settings. The hostname should also match the system name. At start-up, SAP attempts to connect to the local host using TCP/IP. Network settings and system names should be consistent. Also, verify if SAP is able to connect to the database. The developer traces should contain string 'db connect ok' if they can.
