Why do I get duplicate workitems?

I have started a workflow project in the area of Customer Services, around service notifications. I completed the initial workflow configuration for sending of tasks to recipients (the responsible person) using the standard task. I'm getting duplicate workitems in the inbox of the recipient. I checked to ensure that only service notifications are activated and not plant notifications, that seems ok, so I dont know why I'm getting duplicates. Any ideas?

I don't think that your problem related to whether different types of notifications are configured. This is what I would do: Trigger the Workflow and then check whether duplicate Workflow events were raised. You can check this using transaction SWEL (Event Log). You can switch the event log on/off using transaction SWELS.

If there is only one event then I guess that's not the problem. Check to see how many Workflows are being triggered with your event. You can do this by using transaction SWI2_FREQ. You can see what Workflows were triggered.
