SAP BW was renamed as SAP BI from NetWeaver 7.0 onwards. SAP BI, which is a component of NetWeaver 2004s (7.0), came after BW 3.5. There are many differences between BW 3.5 and SAP BI. It won't be possible to list all the differences here. However, the major changes include transformation rules instead of update rules and transfer rules, the BI Accelerator for better query performance, the Report Designer, Reporting authorizations and Real time data acquisition. Also there are terminology changes like Administrator Workbench is now called Data Warehousing Workbench, ODS object is now called DataStore object, transactional ODS object is called DataStore object for direct update. Please refer to the documentation provided in help.sap.com for more details.
