What do I need to know about my service file?

My service file has everything needed to work with sapdp00, but it is still returning a message that the service is unknown. Is there anything else that needs to be fixed?

Typically this error indicates that the "sapdp00" entry does not exist in the services file.

Sometimes there are copies of the services file under the "etc" directory. Make sure that the file is the correct one (no extensions) and that it's located under %%systemroot%%system32driversetc.

The entry should read:

sapdp00 3200/tcp

If you still have problems I recommend that you re-install your SAPGUI. The setup program should put the necessary entries in the "services" file for you.
