Q

Using SEM-BCS for consolidated planning views

We want to implement a planning application for our holding company and three affiliates. Do we need to implement...

also SEM-BCS (Consolidation) in order to have a consolidated view of the plan?

Actually, implementation of BCS component is not necessary in your case. If you design your BPS application to process all the data for all your companies, you can fulfill your planning requirements including parent company and subsidiaries in BPS. While designing the back-end architecture in BW, you should pay attention to include all planning relevant data for all the companies. Also, you can design your BPS system to generate consolidated and/or individual views of your companies and report these through BW.
