Using SAP SRM 2007 without MDM
With the latest version of SRM, all the catalog parts are moved to SAP MDM. Is it possible to use SRM 2007 without implementing MDM?

You are correct that SRM 2007 mandates the use of the SRM-MDM Catalog. If an organization wants to provide a catalog of products/services/contracts integrated with their SRM solution, then with SRM 2007 release, the only supported catalog solution available from SAP is the SRM-MDM Catalog.

However, I believe there are customers that still plan to continue and use the Requisite & BugsEye Catalog and Content Management solutions from Click Commerce on an extended maintenance contract.

The SAP MDM solution is becoming an enterprise application for master data management, and for companies with a heavy investment in SAP it makes sense to move towards MDM. And SRM-MDM provides an opportunity for organizations to review MDM in a smaller scale.
