Using BAPI functions with Java

How can one create a Java application to interact with SAP? A metadata server might work, claims Thomas Schuessler.

I am working on a Java application that needs to connect to SAP R/3. Through my Java code I want to know how I can use BAPI functions.
This sounds as if you need a metadata server for R/3 written in Java. Building one yourself would be very hard. If you are interested in a third party solution, send an email to tgs@arasoft.de.
