Updating Kernel stacks

In your response to a question on January 13, 2005 you said:
"...you should download these files: DW_1969, R3trans_1953, SAPEXE_1913, TP_1967 SAPEXEDB_1913..."

I'm confused; sapexe_1913 and sapexedb_1913 is the Kernel stack Q4-2004. Are we supposed to apply a subsequent...

DW package and tp and r3trans corrections over it?

Use the latest Kernel stacks (Q1-2005 right now): SAPEXE_XXXX and SAPEXEDB_XXXX. They contain the core Kernel files for the SAP release and the database specific files. However, they don't contain the latest TP.exe and R3Trans.exe. That's why you should update them as well. Download their latest version, decompress them and copy them to the usrsapSIDsysexerun directory.

As always, backup your existing Kernel files before doing any updates. You can always restore to the old Kernel in case something does not work (very unlikely).
