Troubleshooting transports

Using the Transport Management System to troubleshoot transports that are not moving.

Where should I start troubleshooting and how should I proceed if my transports aren't moving?
A good start is the Transport Management System itself (transaction STMS). The import queue has some nice options to assist you with troubleshooting the problem. Try the import monitor, which allows you to see what the TP process is actually doing. Also from the import queue, the log files from the transport request can be accessed. The screen displayed shows a nice overview of the different transport steps and their status. A double click transport request itself shows the objects inside.

Another option is the TRANSDIR/log directory which contains all transport log files. TRANSDIR/tmp contains the

temporary log files and files currently in use by TP.
