Troubleshooting for a homogeneous system copy error

I am doing a homogenous copy with a Win 2003 Server on Enterprise SQL Server 2000 with service pack 3 and R/3 Enterprise. I'm having trouble with the central instance recognizing the database SID. In this case I am getting a DB connect error.

Check that the database owner is set up in SQL Server. For example, if the <SID> database is QAS, you should have a SQL login called "qas" (lowercase).

If your system was upgraded from a version older than R/3 Enterprise, the database owner should be "dbo". In such case, make sure that system profiles match the correct database owner.

Also, check if any system environment variables are set. Their value might be incorrect. Take a look at this link for more information: http://searchsap.techtarget.com/general/0,295582,sid21_gci1112056,00.html.
