In reading your response to a previous question about OLE being "notoriously difficult to use". I have a requirement to call a DLL from SAP and send information to this VB program vie calling the DLL. I was told using OLE was a very simple way to do this. Unfortunately I do not know how to accomplish this. In your opinion would this be a "simple solution"? Would OLE be a good way to accomplish this?
With regards to my comment, I was thinking of interfacing using OLE to Excel and Word. To see how OLE can be implemented, look at the code behind transaction OLE. Also, look at the the help for the ABAP statements CREATE OBJECT, SET PROPERTY and CALL METHOD. For myself, to call a DLL, I'd use the SAP DCOM connector, COM4ABAP. This is part of the SAPGUI installation from 4.5B, but can be downloaded seperately. I can confirm it works on 31I.
