Tight time-out setting boots users out

Some of our users are constantly complaining that they are getting logged off their SAP sessions due to the time-out parameter setting, currently 45 mins. Is there a way that users can lock a SAP session, similar to the Windows screen lock method, so that the session will remain active AND data will be retained?

Not that I am aware of. I see three options here (1) change the system parameter settings (RSPARAM), (2) fix the program to run faster, (3) Create another APP Server that has not time-out settings and let the users use it (BASIS people... I apologize:-))
