The future of Knowledge Warehouse

With the proliferation of SAP Portals how do you see the future of Knowledge Warehouse? Do you see it continuing...

as a product?

When it comes to portals, it is a muddy term. Actually, a portal is not a Knowledge Warehouse. A Portal is simply an environment to collaborate, deliver and present information from disparate sources (transaction sources, Data warehouses, knowledge warehouses) from within a company or outside a company in a consistent, integrated and secure fashion along with many attributes such as single logon, personalization, etc. Like I said, a portal is not a knowledge warehouse. A portal sits on top of a Knowledge Warehouse, just like on top of data warehouses. I feel that SAP KW still needs some work ? needs to be 'hooked-up' as part of business process workflows and to collect and index knowledge-aware information ? not simply the transaction data but also the environment context under which a transaction took place. I do not see any reasons why SAP will drop the KW product.
