Can you explain the reason(s) for system response degradation under 64 bit SAP, Oracle and all UNIX OSs?

My experience has been just the opposite. But, keep in mind that if you are going to increase the memory allocation on the software side (the big advantage of 64-bit), you must have the appropriate amount of real memory and swap on the box. You might want to look at transaction st06 -> detailed analysis menu -> Previous hours -> Memory. Look at the values for Paged in and Paged out. Anything over 500,000 (for any significant length of time) per hour calls cause for concern that you are paging too much and do not have enough real memory on the box.
