Earlier I had posted a question on extending business partner search screen in WinIc. Can I use BDT or EEWB? I am new to BDT /EEWB.

EEWB is used to add fields at database level which are enabled on the screen also. EEWB should be used to add a new field to the BP table(s) if you require a new BP field other than the SAP standard-provided field.

Then identify the HTML template that is close to your BP search requirements. You can have access to the SAP provided standard HTML templates in IMG in define search profiles for the search strategies. Note down the template name. Go to transaction code SMW0 and copy the selected HTML template into a ZHTML template and modify it to add new search field
