Security benchmarks when upgrading

Just wondering if there have been any benchmarks as to what extent security changes will be needed when upgrading...

from 4.0B to 4.6C? Percentage wise, what can be expected? 10%, 20% , 30% etc..?

Ever since R/3 4.5x activity groups changed the way authorizations are handled. In 4.0x you could only relay on user profiles.

I would advise you to look at the Upgrade documentation CD to get an idea of what to expect regarding security.

R/3 4.6C does not use the 'sapr3' SQL login any longer, except for upgrades or add-on installations.

If you have access to SAPNet you can check this website: http://service.sap.com/security In fact, you can download Security Guides from there.

You can also visit www.sapinfo.net. You will find another Security Guide under "Services" on their home page.
