Securing a passwd file without moving to trusted Unix

Securing a passwd file without moving to trusted Unix

We are running HP/UX version 11 with SAP 3.1I and would like to know if there is a way to secure the passwd file without moving to trusted Unix? From what I understand, in order to shadow the passwd to make it more secure, we will need to turn on trusted. Until we acquire a package like Axent software, I wanted to secure this file quickly.

Secure Unix. You should have good security controls at the UNIX and db level to ensure that no person can tamper with SAP USR tables or password files.
