SAP/Legacy data exchange using Mercator vs. SAP Business Connector

I am a team lead, and I need sales order, customer master and quotes data to be exchanged between SAP and a Legacy...

system (written in ASP, .NET and runs on SQL server). We are looking at two different options: 1. Using SAP Business Connector 2. ALE/EDI using subsystem Mercator (this is because we have Mercator running for SAP to Mainframes). Could you please guide me in right direction?

If Mercator would not charge you additional money, use them, because you already have know-how in that product. Otherwise, try Business Connector. It is a powerful tool and free for SAP customers.
