Q

Review the dates used in retroactive accounting

Are you dealing with retroactive accounting in SAP HR? Resident expert Brian Stewart advises a user and discusses the different dates used in this procedure.

I am a fresher in SAP HR, and I have a problem in retroactive accounting. How can I define a date, and what are the customizing steps for doing that?
When you say define a date, what do you mean? There's a few options. There's the Earliest Personnel RA date on IT0003 (maintained via program RPUTRBK0 or Utilities->Change Payroll Status on transaction PA30), and there's the Earliest RA Acct. Period on the control record (transaction PA03). Then there's the dates on which the infotypes are changed. Those dates determine retroactive accounting. Not configuration.
