Restricting access to HR data

We have implemented FI and HR. We are going live with MM, SM, SD, PP, QM, BW etc in Dec 2002. We are now beginning to do security roles for the new modules, some of these need access to P_orgin for sales employees. Our HR department says no. We know the system is supposed to work together, so how do we give them access to HR data without letting them see sensitive data? Any help would be greatly appreciated since this is becoming a very hot issue.

All HR access is restricted by Infotypes and PD objects. You will need to determine the appropriate infotypes and relative activities necessary to perform the full-suite functions. It is very common for full-suite functionality to check P_ORGIN. I suggest running a trace to determine the necessary InfoTypes. Hope this helps.
