Recording half days as sick days in SAP

We wish to record sickness absence on SAP. We need to be able record absences such as 3.5 days as a single absence record. However, we are told that the half day must be recorded separately, i.e., the absence must be split and recorded as 2 records (3 days and 0.5 days). Is this true?

Well, the short answer is, yes, it is true. There could be a few ways around it, but half days would have to be recorded in hours, and thus not at the same time.
