Not enough dialog work processes

We manage two environments on two different servers. We use IDocs to transfer documents from SAP to another environment on another server. Frequently, this presents a problem: documents coming from the originating system are not registering in the other server. This triggers re-processing the IDocs. The message on the SAP R/3 system (which is the status monitor for ALE messages) is: "No resources, inmed. Processing not possible: Too few dialog work". What does this mean, and how can we fix it?
This means that your IDocs are coming too fast and/or your machine is too slow. Try to send the IDocs in longer intervals or increase the number of dialog work processes on the receiving machine, if capacity allows it.
