Migrating from Windows NT on an Informix database to Linux on an Oracle database

A new user to SAP is in need of a migration from Windows NT on an Informix DB to Linux on an Oracle DB. Migration expert Bert Vanstechelman explains how.

I am new to SAP and need to migrate Windows NT on an Informix DB to Linux on an Oracle DB. What is the correct procedure for this type of migration?
An OS/DB migration is what you need. During an OS/DB migration all data is extracted from the source system in a platform-independent format. This export can be used to import any other platform supported by SAP. The procedure is explained in detail in the OS/DB migration portal in the SAP service marketplace. The technical guides are available in the upgrade and installation section.
