Managing objects in a multiline container element

I have an object list in a multiline container element. The exact number of objects in this list is known only at run time. It could also be zero. All the objects need to be processed simultaneously (in parallel) with the same multistep task. All the objects must be processed before the next step in the workflow can be executed. I cannot use the fork step because the number of parallel steps is fixed at definition time. How can I solve this problem?

Double click on the activity step in your workflow which will execute the processing. Navigate to the OTHER tab and in the section marked Dynamic Parallel Processing with a multi-line container element. In the entry box, drop down and select the multi-line container element. Then go to the CONTROL tab and display the Workflow to Task bindings. You should see your multi-line element being bound into the task with index. At run time, a work item will be created for each entry in your multi-line container element. If there are no items, then no work item will be created.
