MDMP in ECC 6.0 and Unicode conversion
We are planning on upgrading from a 4.6C MDMP system to ECC 6.0. Can we do a Unicode conversion first in a separate step and then do the upgrade? What are the pros and cons of that?

MDMP is no longer supported as of ECC 6.0. The only option is a combined Unicode/upgrade project. The roadmap is described in the Unicode at SAP portal in the SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/unicode). Good project management skills are needed for these type of projects as two complicated projects are combined in one (the Unicode migration and SAP release upgrade).

The other option might be to upgrade to ECC5.0, perform the Unicode migration and upgrade to ECC 6.0 at a later stage. This is not a realistic option as it would take a very long time.
