Is it possible to change a background task to foreground?

We have a workflow that has a task. This task executes a method and the method does nothing but call a function module. Method passes the container data to function module. Function module does the BDC.

This task is a background task. We have some problem in the BDC and we want to debug the BDC. We want to walk through the BDC screens. We cannot run the task foreground because it was designated as background.

To solve the problem we run the function with SE37 and manually enter the input data (cut and paste the data in the container). This is a very painful process. Can we dynamically change background task to foreground?

Yes, you're right -- this is painful. I am not aware of a simple way of dynamically changing the task to foreground. Yet another great reason to avoid BDCs where ever possible.
