I was a software engineer for approx 2 years during 2000-01. I worked on Java, JSP,Servlets etc. Presently I am in non-IT field. I wish to switch to IT field again but in SAP. Whether Netweaver EP/XI would be suitable for me as I have Java background or I should go for ABAP/4.

Since you have 2 years experience in Java, I think that it's better to go towards the Enterpraise Portal (EP) area. The reason for this is EP needs Java programming skills for JSP and Servlets. However, once you learn the basics of JSP and Servelets then its time to shift to SAP Netweaver E.P.
