I know ABAP -- should I learn Java or .NET next?

I am an ABAP developer, but I think I need to focus on other languages for the future. Should I learn VB.NET or Java?

I'd learn Java, and then apply the object-oriented programming techniques you've learned to ABAP Objects. Java is an SAP development language, while VB .NET isn't. You're more likely to be able to switch languages by staying within SAP, but mastering Java. Also, I find Java more fun to program than VB .NET -- but that's just my preference.
