How to do an SAP remote client copy with different operating systems

Read how to complete an SAP remote client copy on SAP systems with different operating systems (Unix and Linux).

What are the prerequisites for a remote client copy? Can a remote client copy be carried out on systems with different operating systems (Unix and Linux)?
This should be possible. The remote client copy is based on RFC connections. It is independent of the operating system on which the SAP systems run. When you setup the RFC connection, make sure that it uses the server or backup LAN instead of the standard user LAN. Data is copied over across the network, a fast connection is needed.

Please note that the SAP release, the support package level, the SAP data dictionary and the client-independent...

customizing should be equal on both systems in order to make it work.
