How to detect when a DB table is modified

Wondering how to detect when a DB table is modified? Learn how from SAP workflow expert Alon Raskin.

Maybe you can help me. I have to detect when a DB table is modified (when a new row is inserted). Then, whenever it occurs, a report should be run. How do I go about this?
You could use Change Documents to trigger a workflow event, which then calls your report. I would use this only as a last resort, however.

Are you sure there is no exit available for your particular transaction when a new record is inserted? You can...

configure workflow events and change documents using transaction SWEC.
