Going live mid-month

Would you advise against having a go-live for a full SAP implementation in the middle of the month? Would it make...

the reporting and closing process in FI/CO too challenging and would rather consider having the go-live on the first of the month?

All other things being equal, yes, I would advise against trying to go-live in the midst of a month. Month-end closings are usually challenging enough on one computer system. Trying to close using some hybrid of systems would add more complexity to a process already laden with uncertainty as people learn new roles and perform new tasks for the first time.
