Functional knowledge and experience required for BW depends on the roles and responsibilities you're seeking. From what you have mentioned, I understand that you are more into reporting and analyzing data, almost like a business analyst. Financial accounting, inventory management, purchasing and sales and distribution are some of the areas in demand. But experience or knowledge in these areas won't assure you a job. Understanding data warehousing concepts is important, and taking a training course in BW might help you launch your career in BW.
