Formatting a BW Query in a Web template the same as in BEx Analyzer

You may find that a BW Query may appear different when embedded in a Web template versus in BEx Analyzer. BW expert Peter Scott says that while the formatting and OLAP functionality are the same, the variances could be discovered by looking in the Web Application Designer.

When I embed a BW Query in a Web template, the formatting appears much more basic than when viewing the same query via the BEx Analyzer. How can I edit the format settings of the embedded object?
The formatting shouldn't be any different in a Web template, and all OLAP functionality found in the BEx Analyzer should be available through your Web template as well. One recommendation I have is to go back into the Web Application Designer and check the properties associated with the Web item that has basic formatting. Many of the individual Web item properties affect the appearance.
