Editing in table maintenance
I created a Z-table via SE11 and added all fields via "Direct Type" rather than via "Data Element". Then I used the Table Maintenance Generator to create table maintenance screens. However, SM30 and SM31 only show plus signs (+) instead of field names. How can I get the field names to appear in table maintenance?

You can edit the screen from within table maintenance, though you should set the comparison type to "Not Adjustable" since if you regenerate the table maintenance, you'll need to re-edit the screen. The best way is to reference data elements -- an initial coding overhead, but resulting in zero support maintenance.
