Do I need a copyright to market my ABAP subsystem?

Site expert Matt Billingham describes the process involved in marketing an ABAP subsystem.

I have a subsystem written in ABAP that I want to market. What avenues must I go through in order to market it? Must I pass SAP certification? Can I copyright it without SAP certification?
First engage legal help. Questions of copyright vary from country to country. You should be concerned about your intellectual property rights, patents and copyright. Once you have established your foundation with respect to these, I would engage in dialogue with SAP. If they can make money with you out of your subsystem, then I'm sure they'll be very helpful.
