How can we have a Workflow go to the next step or to someone else when a position is vacant?

How can we have a Workflow go to the next step or to someone else when a position is vacant? (since it is not possible...

to define a substitute for a position instead of a person)


Perhaps I have misunderstood your question but it is possible to define a substitute for a position by assigning infotype 1001 to relationship and creating a relationship type of 210 or 311.
