Q

Data distribution with ALE

I want to use ALE for distributing data, but I'm not sure which distribution method to use? I want to know if RFC distribution is good or if file-based distribution is good for distributing large sets of data?

When you distribute really large amounts of data, an RFC connection might cause problems when the receiver system is behind a firewall or the path to the target is long. In that case you should export a file and FTP the file. Generally, the preferred method for distribution is RFC. It is easier to maintain, you get an immediate feedback if something goes awry and as no intermediate files are written it is less prone to errors (like double sending, forgotten transfer files etc.)
