Creating new object types

I need to trigger an event/task when an advertisement is created on the system. There is no standard object type for an advertisement.

for an advertisement. Have you ever created and used a new object type, with no inheritance from an existing SAP standard object type with success?

Yes, I have created a new object type with no inheritance from a standard SAP object type. The new object is created inheriting from interface IFSAP (this is done automatically). This interface defines two methods which all Business Objects must have, ExistanceCheck and Display. It is your choice whether you would want to implement these methods. I would recommend to implement the DISPLAY method. The interface IFSAP also implements OBJECTTYPE attribute which will return the object type.

Hint: Don?t forget to set the Release Status of your object type to IMPLEMENTED (at least). Otherwise, you will not be able to call any methods or access any attributes of your new Business Object type.
