There are many methods to convert business requirements into functional specs. Some include AS-IS, To-Be diagrams or documents, also a gap/fit to determine what modules will cover specific business processes and if additional solutions will be required in other areas. You may want to include detailed programming specs if you are creating ABAP programs. Review the amount of specifications you need to capture and use a method that is efficient and easy for your team to use.
