Can I create a document in DMS?
I'm trying to create a DMS document, but I don't have a clear idea of how it works or how to create it. Could you provide some information?

The DMS system is typically a linking mechanism to put documents into R/3. It usually does not support creating documents. The creation process is handled by the mime-handler; i.e. an external program that knows to handle the respective file type. For example, when attaching a Word document, the system is smart enough to figure out that .doc is attached to MS-Word and it spawns that program automatically.

Similarly, the mime types are configured by your system administrator. The DMS system can be configured to handled Auto-CAD drawings, MS Office documents, Visio drawings, molecular structure drawings, etc.
